Department of Mechanical Manufacturing and Automation:

The Mechanical Manufacturing and Automation was the national first batch subject entitled the doctorate award point in 1998 and wasthe first national key subject in 1988. It is the core component of research bases such as the Research and Application Center of Difficult to Machine Materials Processing Technology in National Defense Science and Technology Industry, the Engineering Research Center of High-efficiency Precision Machining Technology and equipment, the Overseas Expertise Introduction Center for Discipline Innovation”(111 Center), the Key Laboratory of Precision and Micro-manufacturing Technology in Jiangsu Province, and the Advanced Aerospace Manufacturing Technology Cooperative Innovation Center in Jiangsu Universities. 

There are 30 professors, 16 associate professors and 3 young lecturers, including 1 Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, 3 Special Professors of Changjiang Scholar, 1 Young Changjiang Scholar professor, 1 professor selected National Major Talent Projects B Category. At present, it has undertaken many multi-level and multi-type scientific research projects, such as National Natural Science Foundation of China, the National Key Research and Development Plan, the National Key Science and Technology Research, the National Defense Foundation Pre-research and Key model development, Provincial and Ministerial level funds, international cooperation and horizontal cooperation. It also hasremarkable achievements in research on the special processing, high-efficiency cutting grinding, micro-machining and nano-manufacturing technology, manufacturing process automation technology and other aspects. 


In recent years, the faculty from our department have won 2 second prize of National Science and Technology Invention ,1 second prize of National Science and Technology Progress, 3 first prize of National Defense Science and Technology, 1 first prize of Science and Technology Progress of Ministry of Education and more than 300 SCI papers published.
