The College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering (CMEE) is one of the oldest and most powerful colleges in NUAA. In the 1980s, CMEE established its distinguishing feature focusing on aerospace manufacturing. In 1981, the Mechanical Engineering discipline was approved by the State Council among the first programs of doctoral degree. In the 1990s, the research filed was expanded to digitization, intelligence etc. Since the 21st century, CMEE has formed "a two-winged unit" feature cross-integrated with advanced manufacturing process, equipment technology, and digital manufacturing technology, which has built a good reputation at home and abroad.

CMEE now has more than 1800 undergraduate students, and over 1600 graduate students. There are 82 professors, 86 Associate professors and senior engineers, of which there are more than 20 national talent projects (including an Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, an Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, special professors of the "Changjiang Scholars etc., more than 140 provincial and ministerial level talent projects.

CMEE has successively established collaboration of scientific research and talent training with dozens of famous universities and research institutes in the United States, Germany, Britain, Canada, Russia, Japan, South Korea and other countries. The College has launched fruitful work on international academic exchanges, sino-foreign cooperative education, international training, international cooperation platform construction etc. So for, it has established Overseas Expertise Introduction Center for Discipline innovation ("111 Center") and NUAA-Cranfield Aerospace Manufacturing master degree program, both of them are approved by Ministry of Education.

CMEE grows together with NUAA, develops together with China’s Aerospace and civil aviation, and creates common prosperity with Chinese manufacturing innovation. The college firmly centers on the goal of "develop into a first-class college especially featured with Aerospace Engineering", extensively absorbs of outstanding talents at home and abroad, fully mobilizes the enthusiasm of faculty, creates a good atmosphere conducive to "high-quality talents training, high-level academic research, high-efficiency management services", make joint efforts to build CMEE with "Excellence, Integration, Innovation, Openness and Vitality".
